Mary Worth 2855

I certainly understand why Wilbur would prefer to have a frozen Hungry Man dinner rather than eating with Mary and Jeff. I fully support his choice.

Sometime in early March, KM receives a phone call from JB:

"Hello. Oh, hi June. Yeah? What? I forgot to include dialogue for April 2nd? Hmm. Yeah, whatever. You know what to do, you really don't need any dialogue, just keep it simple. Two panels. One miserable Wilber and one vaguely happy Dawn. Boom. Done. While I got you on the phone...there is an ocean near SR, right? With tall cliffs? Yeah. Look, I don't need to get beat up like I did over that Bogota Beach thing. You should've caught that. I'm putting that on you! And June, before I go, somehow work a Head and Shoulders Shampoo commercial into a panel in early April. There's and extra three large in it for you. Yeah, sure, see ya."

Dear Wendy, I'm feeling abandoned and alone. What should I do? Lonely

Dear Lonely, just take it one day at a time . . . by whining to your friends, sitting alone at home eating frozen dinners in front of the TV, and feeling sorry for yourself. You won't feel any better but it will pass the time.

Yaaaaaay, we leave the suffocating atmosphere of Wilbur World for exciting new adventures in Beautiful Italy. Why look, Dawn has apparently sought refuge on the 14th floor of a Roman highrise as a cataclysmic flood ravages the city below. Now that's entertainment!

That panel is unrealistic. There is no possibility Wilbur would not have a gigantic bag of Cheetos beside him.

Actually, Wilbur appears to be viewing a big, flat canvas instead of a TV. I keep imagining him enjoying his dinner in front of the painting of a woman with freshly washed hair and her favorite dandruff shampoo that he just finished. His next work will include a still life of that dinner he's eating. Too bad he didn't paint his dinner before April 1. March was Frozen Food Month...

Wilbur's gone mid-century modern with the TV table.

It looks like Harlan secured accommodations for his group in a barn, not a charming pensione. How long before those floodwaters rise to Dawn's level? Life is indeed brutal for the Westons (which may be why they're both wearing purple).

Perhaps Wilbur's life will soon have meaning - writing the survival stories of Harlan, Dawn, and their study group after the flood.

Dawn is diggin' Brunelleschi's dome on the cathedral in Florence! Meanwhile ... shouldn't Wilbur be watching "Game of Thrones" and moaning "Life is brutal!"??? Moping around really runs in the family! (Not me, though! I'm headed over to the Charterstone tennis courts for some exercise and a hot massage after! Tommy's waiting!)

Maybe he could eat with the orderly from the hospital. I still remember that super depressing picture of the dude (who was actually not creepy) eating a foil TV dinner with his cat, surrounded by Star Wars figures.
