I'm having trouble believing it myself. After weeks of grueling endurance hikes in the Arizona desert, carrying the burden of a grieving widow on her shoulders, and advising the naive group therapy instructor, Mary heads home completely refreshed. However, Pax has emptied her pocketbook so thoroughly that it is lighter than air and Mary is having trouble keeping it in her lap.

Don't be an Aggie. Accept change. See things differently. I know I do. I see that Mary and Shannon have moved indoors. I also seem to be having some sort of strange, out-of-body experience, where I am looking down from above at their plates that suddenly have food-like images on them, while still feeling as if I'm face-to-face with Shannon and Mary. Sometimes all we need is a CHANGE OF PERSPECTIVE!
Shannon has a hard job. It's harder than it looks to get people to relax on yoga mattresses and talk in circles.
Oh, and you know who else has a hard job? These folks.

Speaking of change, I'm not nearly as concerned about how quickly the clouds are rolling in as I am that the horizon east of the mountains has suddenly dropped into oblivion.
Where ever they are going to eat, I hope they serve corned beef hash on Rehash Sundays. I admit that I am looking forward to learning more about what happened. For a while there, I didn't think I'd ever figure it out.
This is wonderful news! Mary is wearing a suit! It looks like she's packed up her scrubs and is finally heading home. Hurry home, Mary! We can't wait to hear all about your wonderful vacation. And if you're anything like Dawn and Wilbur last year, you're going to have to tell the story over and over and over again.
We all know that people don't speak this way, but Shannon isn't speaking. She's thinking. And most people do think this way. They also think, "I wonder if Mary is coming back here to Charterstone? We sure do miss her." "I wonder whatever happened to that old dame who had so much advice?" "Ol' whatsername... I almost forgot about her. You know who I'm talking about don't you?" "I've sure raised a lot of money lately for the hospital, why am I suddenly so focused?" and "They're canceling Ask Wendy? Did Wendy die or something?"
