Mary Worth 2169

Ah, New York, mythical land of flower fairies and tummy brains. But are we so certain that Mary won't be spending at least a little time with Ken Kensington or even John Dill?

Was anyone the least bit surprised to learn that Mary would be traveling to New York? There are other cities you know.

Egad, I forgot the Taylors are in New York too. It's more than a little creepy that Mary refers to tummy-brain Olive as "my friend."

Observe how gleeful Jeff is at Mary's news. Big plans on the horizon, Doc? Maybe the sun outside the window is setting on the Mary-Jeff relationship.

Panel 2 is particularly ominous today.

There are the black clouds, the sun that seems to be crashing into the earth rather than setting, the albino salamander on Jeff's head, the emphasis on the word "leaving"...

Maybe we're about to start a Halloween story.

It seems Mary should talk to Olive's parents about visiting before she just heads out there.

Great to be back at the Bum Boat! The butterscotch pudding sure looks tasty!

Are the Taylors in NYC or some other part of the state? Do Mary and all those who bow to her wisdom even acknowledge that New York State, in fact, encompasses a whole lot more than just the Big Apple?

It's now late October; if Mary is indeed going to New York City, we're certainly on track for a Mary and KK Christmas Romance Reboot! Or Santa Mary immortalized as a cake topper with Olive the Other Reindeer.

This has to be a historic moment. An ancillary character (plus her tummy-brain) is making a reappearance! Don't you see what this means? In due time, we could meet up again with Aggressive Aggie, or Jill the wedding wrecker, or John Dill, or Rainbow Swirly Ice Cream Girl from Goleta. The possibilities are ENDLESS! Of course, I'm more than resigned to my fate that this "story" will flicker and die like all the ones before it, but maybe we'll see some big city flower faeries this time around.

This just in: The Bum Boat is forced to re-design the red boat on its sign after a cease-and-desist letter from Pizza Hut.

I was reading my favorite online "news" source, The Daily Mail, and found this article, which has a photo of Mary's computer keyboard at the very end of the article!

Here's my hope: Olive has written to Mary because her uncaring parents have hired a full-time nanny to deal with her tiresome flower-fairy fantasties - and it's Aggie. Upon whom Mary performs an Agnes-Gooch style makeover and then foists her off on Ken Kensington.

A boy can dream...
