Mary Worth 2984

She's gaining on you Myster Wynter! Run, Saul, Run! She's relentless, but don't give up. Just a ... few ... more ... yards to your front door where nothing will ever remind you of Bella again. Except for the 37 framed photos on the wall, and the chew toys in her chair.

Is this portly old man actually sprinting away from Mary? Or is he just walking like Wilbur? I find the artwork odd.

Give June credit for not phoning it in. Saul's running away pose is exactly the same as yesterday, but the folds and shadows in his sweater and pants are newly drawn today.

@yahoonski I'm sure I've seen Wilbur in precisely the same pose, with the same appearance apart from the back of his head.

You need to lay off the salmon squares, Saul! Or pretty soon you'll have the nickname "Tractor Butt."

This is the first time I can recall "fast action meddling" as opposed to the passive (bench sitting, slow strolls, eating at Diner, etc.) meddling and I like it. It's going to fun watching Mary chase Saul all around Charterstone.

Is one of the five stages of grief "Listen to endless badgering from Mary Worth ?"

For a so called grump, he's actually being passably polite under the circumstances when he apologizes to Mary for not wanting to continue talking to her.

My favorite part of the strip is the monochromatic still life hallway painting. Rather avant garde for Charterstone. The board has eclectic tastes.

If he literally ran into Toby and knocked her down that would be the best strip ever.

The location of the hallway painting is odd. It's way over to the right instead of being centered between the doors.

Maybe this placement is avant garde too, TimP.

Next she’ll be demanding to know if he likes green eggs and ham.

The way Saul runs flat out and Mary keeps up reminds me of Pepe LePew. I picture Mary hopping leisurely between panels. If Mary starts meddling with a French accent this will be the greatest story ever,
