Mary Worth 3007

It's no coincidence that I, too, have been going through a dark time since I first met Bella, and I thought Greta was going to save me by bringing this story to an unsatisfying but abrupt conclusion. But, no, Moy has found a way to drag this out forever. I feel like I've joined Bella in doggy hell.

After an adjustment period, I've given up on Moy ever learning to write human dialog.

It's good to have you back, Wanders. Hanging together in our Worthiverse support group is the only way we can make it through this miserable plot. It's forced me to look at details in June's work, such as Mary today wearing a different jacket than she did yesterday. (It looked like a hoodie on Monday, with a dangling draw cord, but today it has lapels.) And did Toby bolt?

It's time for Mary to return to NYC and reconnect with Ken Kensington, who's plotting to somehow appear as King George in "Hamilton."

I guess having a human companion would be out of the question.

Meanwhile in Beautiful Italy, Dawn chooses which shoes to wear today, which is infinitely more interesting than what's going on in Beautiful Charterstone.

We are gonna get through this the same way we survived the horrors of the Aldo storyline — together, and preferably drunk.

Today's (phoned-in, uninspired) Boldface Haiku is titled

"St. Mary Fishes For A Compliment".

Adjustment period, settled in.
Great! Must too!
Rescued me! Bella...dark time.

I wonder what stock bad guy Mark Trail is punching out today....

In addition to a helping of Toby Rehash (thanks, KitKat, for adding this extremely succinct, descriptive term to the Worthiverse glossary!), today we have a dollop of Re-run Rehash, courtesy of Saul. Perhaps he is concerned that Mary may be experiencing some memory loss of her activities with him in the past week...No mercy for us readers, of course.

Did somebody recently mention that this story started back in August? That means it's been dragging on for at least 21 dog-months now. Greta could die of old age before it wraps up.

It hasn't bothered me as much as some other dragged on way too long story lines.

I hate to say it, Yahoonski, but considering what is likely the average age of those of us still reading Mary Worth, Greta might not be the only one. I agree with most here who feel this story is dragging on too long, but don't all of Moy's stories drag on too long?

Remember when we had pork chop acrobatics, Mary diving into the pool in the middle of the night because Olive's tummy brain called out to her, Aldo flying off a cliff to his fiery death, the shootout in some warehouse, cake competitions, group therapy at the wellness place, yoga on thick mattresses?
I miss those days!

Yahoonski, I was bored at work.

Sun Aug 26 Closing Scene: A California beach.
Tommy and brandy (not the drink) kiss as the sun sinks
slowly in the west.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Mon, Aug 27 Opening Scene: the Charterstone Pool Party [DAY 1]
We are introduced to Wynters and Bella as he stuffs her
with salmon appetizers.
Fri, Aug 31 Bella tries to bite Toby.
Mon, Sep 3 Is that Wilbur by the pool wearing a Speedo?
Wed, Sep 5 Mary & Toby blow off the pool part and go for walk.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Mon, Sep 10 Scene: Mary’s patio. The next day? No time references. [DAY 2]
Bella will not be down for breakfast.
Mon, Sep 17 Scene: Mary’s Kitchen. “Several Days Later.” [Day 6]
More than a couple but less than a week. Let’s says “four days.”
Mary pulls out a can of salmon and decides to hound Wynters.
Scene shift to Wynter’s domicile.
Mon, Sep 24 Scene: Steven King’s Pet Cemetery. “The following week.” [Day 14]
Sun, Oct 7 Scene: Back at Charterstone.
Wynters slams the door in Mary’s face and becomes a shut-in.
Mon, Oct 8 Scene: Mary’s Kitchen. “It’s been several weeks.” [Day 35]
Less than a month? Let’s say 3 weeks.
Mary thinks hard on how to meddle in Wynter’s life while Toby
eats muffins.
Wed, Oct 10 Scene: Wynter’s very shut door. Same day?
Mary lies about her Michelins to get Wynters out.
Thur, Oct 18 Scene: At the shelter!
Mon, Nov 5 Scene: back at Wynter’s domicile.
Later that SAME day as it’s supper time.
Mon, Nov 12 Scene: On the Charterstone walking path from September 5th!
“After Several Weeks.” [Day 56]
Again how long is several weeks?
Mary and Toby meet Wynters and Gretta.

So! This story arc has limped along for 80 RL days and at least a month and a half AM (Anno Mariae). It all depend on how long “several weeks” is. Three? Seven? Nine?

RobC - Wouldn't it be funny if your boss was also a fan of MaryWorthandMe and the next comment after mine was, "RobC - you're fired!"

Wanders! Welcome back! I was worried that you had gotten tired of us. So glad you returned.

I was reading about the poor animals that were killed in the California wildfires and started to cry, so I needed some relief by reading the snark. (Hope all of out California snarkers are safe!)

RobC, thanks for getting me out of the doldrums, just like Greta has done for Myster Wynter. I would have been even more happy if Greta had taken a bite out of Toby's leg.

Why hasn't anyone in Worthverse questioned Myster Wynter why he and his dog have to wear matching bow ties? But then THIS IS Worthverse, where crazy behavior is the norm. Just look at Wilbur.

Greta’s bow tie bothers me more than it should. I did once dress up an animal. I was about five and put a baby doll bonnet and gown on my cat. He was a massive, complacent Tom (named Mitzi, for some unfathomable reason), and purred through the whole ordeal, which included being wheeled around in my doll buggy. I have never since put anything but a utilitarian collar on any pet.

Come to think about it, the colloquial German translation for Mitzi is Kitty, which would have made sense if anyone in the family spoke German.

This whole rambling post was my antidote to thinking about the storyline. Please, may it soon be over, but I still don’t want to see any Beedies.

I'm going to be spending 12 hours out of the next 48 hanging around airport departure lounges. Still less boring than the Greta storyline.
