Mary Worth 3031

I'm sorry that I missed Mary's Christmas dinner, but it is nice to know that Dawn returned from Italy and did not appear to be pregnant. I'm also very happy for Jannie. Not all college professors are so excellent, and while his RateMyProfessor.com reviews are definitely mixed, he seems to strike a chord with the brighter students.

I hope everyone had a happy holiday. Our oldest got married on Saturday, and then with family around for Christmas, I've been a little busy. It may delay the Worthy Awards, but they will happen!

My best wishes to you for a very happy New Year!

Wanders! Congratulations to you, your beautiful daughter, and all your family. Joy, joy, joy!

Now, as to Jannie. GAG!! How badly are you failing, girl? Or how badly do you need some kind of daddy surrogate?

Karen, sweetie, no one in the real world, let alone real Academia, talks like this. You need to get out more. Or at least, watch TV or something.

Congratulations! And happy post-Christmas let-down to everybody!

Congrats! And Ms. Moy, you really do need to get out more. In the era of #MeToo you start this ridiculous story line?

Wow, just Wow! Today's strip isn't even worth our snark. Moy's dialog has sunk to a new low.

Today's Boldface Haiku is titled

"Jannie Butterworth Pours It On".

Professor! Professor Cameron!
Jannie?
Problem?
No problem! Bask brilliance!

Thanks for sharing the photo of the happy couple, Wanders. Beautiful! May they enjoy a lifetime of happiness!

Brilliant last name for Jannie, BTW.

And I agree with everyone else; just when you think Moy's dialog can't possibly get any worse, somehow it does! I hope that in tomorrow's strip, June will show Prof. Gullible upchucking on Jannie's mary janes.

@Wanders--Many Best Wishes to your daughter and new son-in-law! And how perfect are those reviews for the Professor Ian Cameron on rateyourprof? Nice catch. ;-)

Congratulations to your entire family, Wanders, and many thanks for sharing the photo of the happy couple! They both look wonderful (what a lovely gown). All the best as they open this new chapter.

Now from the sublime to the ridiculous: today’s strip. In p. 1, Jannie (and what a dumb nickname that is) looks about 12, but she morphs to about 40 in p. 2. June, you also need to get out more.

Who knew that Chinbeard afflicts Canadian students too? Does Justin Trudeau know about this? Does it violate some aspect of NEW NAFTA?

Congratulations to the Wanders family. Your daughter made a beautiful bride! Many years of happiness to them both.

Back to Jannie. Is she failing Ian’s class so bad that she has to butter him up like a Christmas turkey? She sounds like a female Eddie Haskell. Ian is such a dope he’s taking all this kissing up like she means it. Are there any bright people in the Worthverse??!

Wanders, I’m commenting on my phone, so I couldn’t see your last name for Jannie. I went to the web version and saw it. I couldn’t pick a better name.

That being said, I have some advice for KM. Stop watching reruns of Leave it to Beaver on MeTV and get outside to see how real people interact with each other. If I spoken to any of my Professors in this brown nosing way, they would have told me to find another school.

I think we may be missing the point that Jannie is majoring in Sarcasm.

Wishing much happiness to your daughter and her husband - lovely photo!

Congratulations to the wonderful couple (you daughter and husband - not Ian and Jannie).
May they bask in each other's brilliance for many years to come!

Congratulations Wanders!
And given Prof. Cameron's girth, wouldn't it be more fitting for Jannie to be basking in his shadow?

Congrats on your daughter's nuptials!

I'm a college instructor and would be creeped out if a student followed me to "bask in my brilliance." Jannie here must be crashing and burning something fierce.

My semester just ended, and I had a few students who did poorly come to me to beg for extra credit. One freaked out so hard she called my cell phone on a Saturday.

Congratulations Wanders! Best excuse ever to miss curating your blog. Happy New Year.

I wanted to wish everyone in the Worthiverse a very Merry Christmas, and I also wanted to congratulate Wanders. Unfortunately, I've been overcome by a wave of nausea after reading today's strip, and I need to go lie down.

Blessings to the newlyweds! They radiate joy! Jannie and the Professor radiate something entirely different I'm not even sure what to call it.

For some reason, the wedding photos don't display on my computer, but congrats anyway, Wanders.

Personally, I think it's very sad that Ian seems to have never gotten a compliment of any kind in all his years of professing.

When Dawn went gaga over Harlan’s class on Leonardo da Vinci, yoga at Harlan’s house ensued. Will Toby walk in on something similar at the Camerons’ Charterstone digs? (I’ll never forget the depiction of Leonardo in Harlan’s lecture - he looked like Rasputin after a bender.)

Are we going to go back and forth between Jannie's obnoxious and obvious fawning, and Toby being horrid? Because bleaahh. Not sure how much I can take.

The emotional behavior of the characters depicted in Mary Worth is not only highly relatable but provides a moral clarity to which we all should aspire.

Also, I am the Czar of all Russias.
