Mary Worth 3065

Of course, if Jannie actually did have real feelings for you, then falling for it would have been okay.

I really want to commend Karen Moy for her portrayal of the worst, most dysfunctional marriage I've ever seen. Every day, one of these two morons says something that makes my jaw drop even further than the day before. This is "Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf" kind of stuff.

Thanks for the clip, Wanders. If only Toby and Ian were as interesting as Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton were.

I read the comic a couple of times and started to wonder if KM reads her own strip. Panel one: "I had to grade Jannie down because of her faulty classwork". You flunked her, you fool! You flunked her for not giving you her paper, not because of faulty classwork! Panel Two: I don't remember Jannie saying she had feelings for him. She gave him a few ridiculous comments about his teaching. If my husband had said the blather that Ian is saying to Toby, like I said yesterday he'd be sleeping on his mother's couch.

You're right Wanders. The stuff that comes out of these morons' mouths never ceases to amaze me either.

Wow! It's been a while since I've seen WAOVW. I'd forgotten how powerful the performances were. Whoa. Seems a lot more closer to reality than the Professor Chinbeard/Gray Clay Lady dialogue. Thanks Wanders! Now I know what's on Netflix for me tonight. And hey - what a better movie to watch on Valentine's Day! : ))

Can we please just skip to the wrap up between Toby and Mary either at Mary's apt eating muffins or out walking? Maybe that summary will explain this nonsense.

This is very un-Tobylike behavior. The real Toby would be melting down at this point. This imposter is cool and confident.

This strip gives me the bends.

Today's Boldface Haiku is titled

"In Today's Episode Of Milquetoast Theatre O' Lies And The Clueless...".

Down faulty. Reluctantly.
Compliments?
Never! Young girl me!
Not! Amazing!

Ian is admitting to Toby that his head was turned by an insincere pretty young thing, and she's telling him he's amazing? Weird.

Let's face it, Toby is making up for those "old familiar" comments she made lo, these many weeks ago, about Ian. Suddenly, her "old man" is "amazing".. I'm betting tomorrow's Muffin Wrap Up with Mary will include some comment that will tie it all up neatly. Mary's been searching Bartlett's Familiar Quotations-she still has the 1855 edition-all week for the perfect bromide with which to admonish a married woman who has taken her husband for granted.

@LouiseF: Given that Toby and Ian are dumber than a collective box of rocks, I’d say they take each other for granite.

fauxprof, I am glad to have provided a catalyst for your comment today! Maybe Mary and Toby will walk by some well-illustrated boulders as they discuss events..

Spot-on and hilarious comments from all of you today! Happy Valentine's Day to Wanders and all of my fellow citizens of the Worthiverse!

Wanders, including that film clip is perfect. I suggest that the Actors Theatre of Greater Metropolitan Santa Royale mount a production of WAOVW with Ian and Toby as George and Martha and Zak and Dawn as Nick and Honey.

"A young girl like Jannie"? Oh puh-leeze, Chinbeard. You make her sound like Little Bo-Peep instead of the scheming, foul-mouthed opportunist she is. And Toby, "amazing"? What a limited vocabulary you have. I'm surprised you didn't say "awesome" [cringe].

@LouiseF at 10:14 a.m., I also foresee a muffin wrap-up with Toby thanking Mary profusely but I doubt it will be tomorrow, Saturday, or Sunday. Mary needs at least a week for her next victory lap.

I imagine Ian's mother is pushing up spear thistle. We can only hope Ian moves in with her soon.

Toby has graduated from a deodorant commercial to "My wife, I think I'll keep her. "

Did young Karen Moy have an unrequited crush on one of her college professors? First she wrote about Dawn's troubling relationship with Prof. Parkour. Now it's Chinbeard reacting to his student in an ethically challenged way. Moy has some explaining to do!

Good point about young girl Jannie. Why wouldn't Ian call her a young woman? And there was no debate about Jannie's grade. She did no work it wasn't possible to do anything but fail her.

Now thers's another conversation that no one has ever had ever.

Soooo, just to be clear, Chinbeard was going to have an affair with Jannie if she was willing? I just don't get what he's trying to say. "I was a fool to think someone beautiful and sexy would want me!" "Oh, honey, I want you." YIKES.
