Mary Worth 3325

I'm sorry, what? You've been friends with Jared for several years? So, like in high school? But that would mean you were dating that married doctor in high school. We used to just pretend time didn't move in the Worthiverse, but now there's no more pretending: Dawn is the perpetual college student. The next thing you know, water will start defying gravity.

Thanks, for your keen eye, M. Wanders. So either water IS defying gravity here, or we're supposed to gather that Mary's watering has slowed to a trickle that is only coming from the center of her watering can spout. But that would indicate that she's aware of what she's doing. Dawn's story has so engulfed Mary that she can barely attempt to increase the suspense by asking about Hugo, let alone stop flooding those tulips. It's all about the details these days...

Today's Boldface Haiku is titled

"Hugo Is My International Boyfriend And Jared Is My Domestic Boyfriend And Harlan Is My Mentor Boyfriend And...".

Good friends!

Wanders, I was like you. Did we somehow miss this budding friendship between Dawn and Medical Assistant Jared? When she met him in the pizza parlor, it seemed like they hadn't seen each other in a while. If they had been friends for the past couple of years, wouldn't she have known that he wasn't working for Dr. McCreepy? Like Judge Judy says (I'm making this family friendly) "Don't piddle on my leg and tell me it's raining", Dawn. Plus these two clowns had two dates and it's love? Oh brother.

I can't wait for Dawn to call Hugo and he answers with his hot blonde girlfriend sitting next to him and HE breaks up with her. She'll go into a tailspin because she wanted to do it first and will boo hoo to Mary that Frenchy had been cheating on her all along.

Dawn is an idiot.

Thank you for the secret message, Wanders. Let's hope this ends soon and life can go back to normal. In the meantime, thanks all for the laughs.

Wanders, thanks for your secret message. My best wishes are extended to you, Mrs. Wanders, and your family.

@Nance, your haiku title made me laugh out loud - excellent!

Dawn is either deranged or she’s lying (oh my stars!) to Mary. She barely gave Jared the time of day when they worked together for one summer, and she was nasty to him when he warned her about Dr. Sleazy. “Good friends for several years”? Forget it, girlie.

The Eiffel Tower is temporarily closed, so Hugo will have to find some other place to throw himself off of when he learns Dawn is pulling the plug on doing long distance. I have a feeling he’ll manage exceptionally well, tee hee.

Again, I believe Jared probably does't understand "the birds and bees"So, the love will be like Mary and Dr Jeff.

"I thought you and Jared were just good friends," she said with a not-so-subtle hint of disapproval.

Dawn's possible answers to Mary's stupid question, "Are you going to break things off with Hugo?"

• "No. Why?"

• "No. Jared's into threesomes."

• "No. The next time we Skype, I'm going to pick my nose and eat it. Then he'll break things off with me."

• "No. You're going to do if for me. Here's his number. Thanks, gotta run."

Don't you love the way Dawn says "past few months", misrepresenting the actual time we've been 'exposed' to Dawn/Jared in this plot line? Maybe we can do this with the virus and make a few months go by like a week, sparing humans from the exposure, dropping the rates of spread, saving lives. What if the MW strip actually contributes to a time warp that throttles down all the worry, suffering and shut-downs?! Thanks, Karen and June, for at least giving it a try!

At the pizza joint, Dawn did say that it'd been two years since she'd seen her good friend Jared. Apparently she's been practicing Social Distancing for a while now.
