Mary Worth 3380

Yes, it is International Praise-the-Madonna-of-Charterstone Day.

Now we know the reason for this week of blather. If Dawn hadn’t hit the “Praise Mary” button by today, Mary was prepared to push Dawn’s face in Charterstone Pond/Glorified Puddle and keep Dawn sputtering until she gave in. It’s Mary’s world - we just live in it.

All of us are primed for a pool party but I fear our hopes are in vain. KM has become so bereft of ideas (or lazy), it might be another Wilbur-Estelle plot, or possibly a Zak-Iris. Ugh. Or Toby might surface only for a week so Mary can gossip about Dawn, her young Frenchman, and Nerdly Endearing Jared. Toby will praise Mary while pouring herself another scotch.

So there they sit on the bench of blessed platitudes, footloose and footless. Mary be praised, and in tomorrow’s Sunday Summary, she will be praised s’more (without the benefit of marshmallows, graham crackers and chocolate).

Has a new storyline EVER been launched on a Sunday? I retain a thread of optimism.

I don't know, fauxprof. Sunday is a long shot for a new story, but Dawn's and Mary's dull and yet complex (maybe not intentionally complex) conversation may be leading us to something.

Great comments again today, all, including yours, Wanders.

I remember one new plot development that occurred on a Sunday. I think it was when Jared kissed Dawn for the first time, thus sending us all down this rabbit hole of soul-crushing angst and indecision.

If there was a Worthie Award for Most Boring, Tedious, Unnecessary Week of the Year, I think this puppy would be the leader in the clubhouse.

Yesterday Dawn received a blessing from St Mary, today Dawn worships at her feet. If a young neighbor talked to me like that, I would run like hell. There's no predicting what that delusional whacko would tell the police tomorrow.

True story. I have an acquaintance who just turned 90. Met her through volunteer work. We lost touch for a few years, but met again (or should I say 're-connected') in January at the grocery store (she does her own shopping). We agreed to meet for coffee, I picked her up and we had a nice brunch of caffeine, tea and scones at Whole Foods. Interesting lady, basically a single mom who worked in graphic design in downtown Pittsburgh during the middle years of the last century. I enjoy spending time with her because she has lived a full life and also is still interested in the world around us. She beats Mary by the pants. And if I was anything like Dawn, she'd beat me by the pants with her cane.

SUNDAY: Moy has lived down to our expectations once again. On the bright side, should something befall her, Frank Natale seems well-suited to take over the writing duties. I accept this and I understand it. Therefore, I know it.
