Mary Worth 3437

While it might be easy to speculate about psychopharmaceuticals right now, what I really want to know is why did Madi try to keep the secret ingredient secret from Mary, when Mary was going to be helping to make the next batch? Is this some sort of secret ingredient that you can't see if you are over 80? It is all just so confusing to me.

I’ve finally figured out why it took so long for KM to bring us back to the Toby dessert disaster story. KM has been racking her brain for months to come up with a great secret ingredient. Unable to do so, she's decided, "Oh, the hell with it."

If KM was wracking her brain for months to come up with some acceptable, non-cringeworthy writing, today’s strip displays how she failed. “As Toby, Mary and Madi get to work on a new batch of banana bread...their enthusiasm is renewed by Madi’s suggested ingredient” AHHHHH!!!!

We might have known KM doesn’t use the Oxford comma, either. Another black mark in my book.

I guess they ask Mary to go into the next room so that they can add the secret ingredient. A few minutes later, they giggle and yell, "It's okay to come in now!" Then they giggle some more.

First sister and I would get together some years ago to make Christmas cookies. It was a lot of fun. We planned ahead, made the dough and froze it a month before so all we had to do was thaw the dough, employ the cookie cutters and bake the results. Our secret ingredients were wine and conversation. Note how Mad!, Mare and Tobe are none of them looking at each other. I put it this way: Sis & I had a way better time. :)

Gary Larson has put out a timely, and apt, new Far Side panel involving banana bread!

Thanks, RobC - perfect! Three gorillas - Toby, Mary, and Madi. Can it be that Gary Larson reads Mary Worth?
