Mary Worth 3590

Of course it is no justification, but maybe Gary was just sick of listening to Eve talk about Max. In many ways, I blame her for Gary's stroke.

How much longer are Eve and Saul going to gush about their respective pooches? I hope this game of "Can you top this?" leads to a big argument over who is top dog and then fisticuffs. I picture Eve sitting on top of Saul, banging his head against the ground. Greta and Max can mix it up too, pulling each other's wardrobe accesories until they both pass out.

There is no justification for making light of domestic violence.

I was thinking the same thing Kit Kat. The "story" line is far past its course. Any excitement would be welcome.

At this point, Moy is fresh out of ideas for storylines, and phoning it in. I think we're going to be in the Dogs Are Wonderful loop through Sunday.

I'm glad to see Greta and Max panting again. I was beginning to think they were suffocating themselves to get out of this story line. Apparently they thrive on dog praise, well like most dogs. One of the most annoying features of this "plot" to me is the holding dogs up as if they are somehow more outfitted than the rest of us to amaze and stun with their magnanimity and grace. I've seen some pretty adept squirrels, and what about Alvin and the Chipmunks?! Really tired of this scene, as you can probably tell.

Max’s acceptance speech upon receiving his Lifetime Achievement Award:
“Woof; woof!” (translation: “You like me; you really like me!”

Okay. There is no way that KM is continuing to drag this story out without something nefarious going on. Could it be that KM and Wanders have made a bet as to how long she can prolong our agony before one of us loses it and makes an extremely family-unfriendly comment? I can feel the tension in the ranks, Wanders. I hope you wagered wisely!

I think that we shall never slog /
Through as boring a time as this ode to dog.

O when will Moy at last relieve /
The tedium of Saul and Eve?

We tired masses yearn to be free /
Of this unremitting redundancy.

Story conference between K.M. and her editor. Six months ago.

Editor: Karen, we've received a storyline request from a wealthy reader. We are to do a multi-year storyline about dogs and how great they are. The hero will be Max. Max will make Lassie look like a *itch. It should have bullets flying, headless mannequins, and a dead cad of a husband--yet still be bland and repetitive. Can you do it?

KM: I don't take storylines from readers. I have my ethics and my pride. No.

Editor: Here's the check he sent. You get 10%.

KM: When would he like it to start? Max is a great name for a dog ...

Today's (We Are Not Amused) Boldface Haiku is titled

"What Words Would Be In Boldface If We Were Discussing The Longevity Of This 'Plot'".

Still!
Amazing?

When is Mary going to get involved in this ? Is she in this comic strip anymore ?
I can't stand this anymore. I'm going to have some of Toby's vodka to dull the pain

Wait a minute, HelenClark! Max is no Sally Field. I've never seen him fly and I know he's never been married to Abraham Lincoln!

MissScarlet – Oh, I don’t know about that. Wasn’t Max sort of flying in front of Eve when he took that bullet? Admit it; his ears looked a lot like Sister Bertrille’s cornette. And considering how well he’s handled Eve’s trauma, wouldn’t he have had Sybil fixed up way before even the second or third personality showed up? And his bandana! Wouldn’t that have had made at least the bottom of Gidget’s bikini? And isn’t life like a box of Milkbones? You never know if you’re going to get liver or bacon!

I know these are fictional characters, but this "joke" is really victim-blaming for Gary's violence towards Eve. I don't appreciate it.

HA! HelenClark! Well done!
