Excellent suggestions in today’s secret message, Wanders.
Wilbur actually said “sigh” instead of sighing. Perhaps Mary included things like that among Wilbur’s endearing quirks when she strong-armed Estelle into taking him back.
Wilbur can interview the other shoe from that pair for “Survivor Stories.”

Wonderful comment, KitKat! The only accompaniment this plot needs is a laugh track, probably left over from an episode of "Mr. Ed".
