He really is as stupid as Wilbur. Was. Was as stupid. Something tells me there isn't a cabana with a bar at the bottom of that cliff, however.

I can’t see KM killing off Zak. He’s probably smack down on a ledge and will somehow survive with minor scrapes and contusions. Remember Iris’s remark about her strength training? Prepare to see her shimmy down and somehow rescue him in typically outlandish KM fashion. Then Wilbur can interview both of them for “I’m Alive!”
I don't think we've seen the last of Zak. I remember him saying something about how he wanted to experience Piccadee Falls "with Iris". That leads me to believe he's been there before and knew that there was another, super wide ledge about 4 feet below the one he pretended to fall from. I don't think he'll have even a scratch. KM tried to throw us off track with that business about Iris' strength training. But I'm thinking she'll lean over the edge to see him laughing his head off. His childish behaviour will confirm to Iris that he really is way too young for her and she'll decide to head back to Wilbur.
And the dialogue. It's very revealing. Sunday's terrified "Zak" was framed in loving pink. Today's "Zak!" is smoldering black.
It's hard to feel sorry for anyone who's that stupid.
Well, Iris, at least he won't be nagging you about marriage anymore. Too bad you can't find your way back since he had the compass and map with him. Oh well, looks like there's lots of vegetation to eat. Consider is a nature salad.

Both people Iris has dated in this strip have done something stupid and fallen from a great height. She likes to date very stupid people, apparently.
Who knows, maybe there's a river at the bottom of the falls that will take Zak to a mountain resort.
If there's another ledge down there and Zak did that on purpose, then I hope she ditches him.
Tomorrow ...
Zak: "See, Iris, there's a ledge right here! Why are you so upset? Can I call you 'mommy'?"
She's going to turn out to be dreaming, or there's a convenient ledge right under that cliff, or something else stupid.
