The audacity, Jeff, to ask Mary to drop everything to go running off to Vietnam with you and Drew! Don't you know how busy she is? What with her rose garden, volunteer duty at the hospital and Charterstone matters? Mary's run off to New York twice before... without Jeff. Arizona... without Jeff. And now, New York again... without Jeff. Perhaps Snoopy said it best...
Well, Jeff is getting written out of the story for a while. And Wilbur is writing Ask Wendy again. The pawns are being positioned for something big. Some major shift in the Worthiverse is coming people. I can feel it in my trembling bones. Now, when do we go to the Bum Boat?
The anticipation is killing me. They both have news for one another. Mary's, no doubt, has something to do with Dear Old Shelly Cohen coming to visit. But, Jeff... What could Jeff's news be? We could be embarking on the greatest Mary Worth story of all time. Better than last year's Italian Vacation. Better even than the Death of Aldo Kelrast. I'm serious. This is the one we've been waiting for!

Rarely, but every once in a while, I'll throw in a little bit of my Mormonism. Members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints participate in a worldwide conference every six months. The Mormon Tabernacle Choir usually sings, and the men and women who lead the Church speak. It is broadcast worldwide. When I was a kid, I thought it was mostly boring. But as an adult, I find it mostly wonderful, so I wanted to share this information with this little group of my online friends who put a smile on my face each day. The most intriguing part of this delightful panel is the phrase "Charterstone matters." I know it's a euphemism, but it sounds a lot more menacing than mere meddling.
Great literature is never rushed. It takes time to carefully craft character, to render environment and unfold the layers of plot. I for one would be content if this story never got underway. Greatness. Pure greatness is often deeply buried under many, many layers and it could take years to find.
I, for one, never believed for a moment that our new story was going to be an epic tale of redemption centered around Tommy and Iris. It appears my expectations, however, will still be exceeded if this turns into an epic tale about Wilbur typing on the computer.
Wait a minute! Iris Beedie lives at Charterstone? Wilbur and Iris have been dating for nine long years, and we've only seen her once since her son went to prison. I thought she lived in Fresno and the distance made getting together difficult. But, no, one lunch in nine years, and Wilbur calls it a relationship. Of course, for Wilbur, every lunch is a relationship.

I don't think I've ever heard Mary Worth sound more menacing than at this particular moment. She softly kisses chin napkin, as if to say, "Forgive me," before unleashing her fury on the poor, pathetic Wilbur Weston.
