Mary Worth 998

Another typical Mountview Hospital professional, completely ignoring the needs of her patients for the sake of love. If that's the proper word.

Today's Full Strip

Goodness, how "subtle" does she have to get before he notices? I'm voting for a slow strip-tease on the table.

Liza: "Code Red in the ICU? Oh, the blue man can take care of that nuisance, Dr. Drew. Let's share more inane, stilted dialogue over another cup of hospital swill. (I think I'm in love!)"

I actually detect an expression of disdain on Dr. Drew's face... Does he dare think that Liza-with-a-Z is being a tad bit irresponsible?! And stalky-creepy?!

OMG, my word today is lemettl - it's time for Mary to make an appearance. Her lemettling has been absent far too long.

Wow, profiles remain an elusive target in this art world!

But I digress: just do it and get it over with kids. I, for one, am so entirely bored with your contrived hand motions that one never sees in real life.

Oh my- word verification is "updummy." Yes, that's it; get up dummy and do it.

If this goes on much longer, I might be the next one to jump out the window.

I guess Jill was drunk when she hired this one.

Gotta chime in with my word verification: fecibun! Let your imagination run wild with that one! Ha ha ha ha!

I don't really have anything else--the constant karate chops have knocked the smugness right out of me--but it sure looks like we have a rogue nurse on the premises.

Is she stroking his chin already? No wonder Drew looks surprised.

My word verification is "inglee." YES! I can definitely see this storyline as a musical!

I once tried to live outside the moment but then the drugs wore off.

Oops, look the time, gotta go now. What say we get together again in, oh, say, a hundered years or so.

Liza's going to blow off the old 4:30 to 1 AM shift...I always hated that shift too.

Then again, at Santa Royale Hospital, there's always someone from a foreign country you can call to fill in.

Paging Dr Nick Riviera!

My verification word was votymbuc

It's becoming clear why Mountview relies so heavily on Mary Worth, Volunteer. I'm sure she'll have no problem covering Liza's shift.

Dr. Drew does look a little dismayed at Liza with a Z's cavalier attitude toward her work schedule. Well, he's one to talk! He left Viet Nam for a "vacation" and hasn't even bothered to decide if he's going back. How many shifts has HE missed by now? And has he even called the good cash-strapped people at Peace Village?

Speaking of obscure references, Z used to be a Cavalier.

If anyone ever needed Mary's advice on how to snare a man, it's Liza.

Dr. Drew is as slow as molasses in January, but I think even HE is feeling Z's claws of doom dragging him under!! I know I am!

I WISH I could "stay here in the moment" with you all as I eat my lunch at my desk, but sadly I have some stuff to finish that ships Monday... so I'll "have to let you go".

I'm starting to miss creepy Wilbur and his beige foodstuff already. Maybe he's outside with an extra bland kite, ready to intercept Liza when the canteen staff finally kick her lazy, lustful ass out.

Liza-with-a-Z needs a cold shower. I hope none of the third graders who man the welcome desk are in the cafeteria.

Could a man look more bored than Dr Drew is with Liza? I don't think so. Of course, she hasn't poised for "Men's Exercise" or whatever the real magazine Drew was obsessing over so her chances are nil.

Our object lesson for today kiddies:
How clueless do you have to be to tell the dedicated/missionary doctor ,
that patients are not important.

Lisa will , after her dressing down by Dr Drew (Carey) ,
become a rogue stalker or such a saintly paragon of nursely duty-of-care ,
that even Mary Worth will be nonplussed.

There might be hope for this story yet- if Liza gets fired for slacking off on her shifts to flirt with Drew, maybe we'll get to see Jill giving her a stern warning, or perhaps even firing her!

P.S.- My word verification was ''messomen''! Wonder what that means?

I couldn't agree with your secret message more. How long is the comic going to be nothing but her gushing over him?

Captain Peabody said...

Wow...so this is what it's like to be Doctor Drew Corey, Stunningly Handsome Doctor and Chick Magnet. Liza's know him for three and she's already ready to unable to take her eyes off him, unwilling to every leave his presence again, and ready to sacrifice her career to be with him.

No wonder he spends all his time in Vietnam with sick children; at least there, there aren't any women to throw themselves at him.

Drew, of course, is very well trained in dealing with his "special condition"; noticing the warning signs of Drew Infatuation beginning to manifest themselves in Liza's voice, speech, and mannerisms, he expertly tests the waters by suggesting withdrawal of the Hotnesss. Her reaction confirms the worst: Liza has a full-blown case of Drew Fever. If he isn't able to find some other remedy in the next few minutes, he may have to take drastic measures to save himself, and her, from certain doom.
