Mary Worth 1,154

There's gratitude for you. Gina leaves Diner in a lurch without her sick waitress skillz, and not so much as a how-dee-do to Mary Worth for guiding her to destiny. Is it any wonder that Mary is left with nothing but a face touch and an exclamation point?

Today's Full Strip

Looks like Mary's going to New York! Or else she'll just forget about it and move on to the next storyline. God, I hope she goes to New York...

Seriously? I think I've got whiplash from the 0-to-warp-speed story progression!

After all, NYC offers such an affordable cost of living for a waitress with huge medical bills from her late mother.....

Or is Gina doing the old "dine and dash" with her financial obligations?

Or could Bobby have taken Gina "deep sea fishing" now that he and his mob.....uh team have finally caught up with her?

Or even worse...is she doing the "unspeakable" in her living arrangements in this previously family-friendly strip?

No matter what, we can be assured that Mary will not rest until we loyal readers know every sordid detail of Gina's "relocation".

Word verification is "besst". As in thisss iss the besst comic ssstrip.

As Bobby's long lost cousin, Jill would say:

"HA HA HA!"

Stunned at Gina leaving Santa Royale without thanking her profusely, Mary gets drunk as a skunk at the next Charterstone Pool Party and falls into the pool. Little does Mary know that Gina and Bobby (arena soccer's answer to David and Posh) are at this moment giving an exclusive interview to Kickingit Magazine about their reunion. "I owe it all to a white-haired old woman who's a great tipper," gushes Gina.

I think Moy just finally got as bored as we did. Or else she skipped the "How to End Your Storyline" class at Comics University.

Mary looks to be on the verge of a 'Fatal Attraction' meltdown. "I will not be ignored!!!!"
Hope she doesn't toss that cake rotting inside the diner pantry at the face of Gina's replacement.
And to think Mary passed up lunch with the nurses for this?
Vengeance, thy name is Mary Worth.

Quit? But she didn't even work here?! (with apologies to Seinfeld).

Can anyone say.....ROADTRIP! Hoke, bring around the Chrysler!

If only we could get rid of a few more characters this quickly.

I would like to fomally request a Face-Touching label please.

I wonder if Gina sold her flat screen TV.

I am glad this story is over.

Mary's face touching hand is in direct proportion to her disbelief at being the last to know that Gina skipped town. Poor Mary. There is no gratitude in this world!

I think the writing and art have reached such a new low that it's really hard do describe. Except, maybe, with a giant "!"

I agree with you all who've pointed out the utter ungraciousness with which Gina left to go live in sin with Bobby. We'll never know if Bobby and Jill are related!

Wow, 11 comments prior to 9:15 am! Actually, Bobby is unaware that Gina has already quit her job and gone straight to NY to stalk him down. Wait until she finds out she has competition...

Also, the redheaded waitress (who hasn't revealed her name tag) seems to have an attitude. Maybe she ought to sit down for coffee with Mary.

I can't believe this is over. Maybe what really happened was that the mafia boss came and kidnapped her, after Bobby mesmerized her with his constant staring. After all those years, he probably figured, 'If you can't beat them, join them.'

Now Gina gets to sit in a cheap apartment in NYC and watch Bobby on TV as he travels around the country to play soccer, just like she did in Santa Royale (including eating cat barf nuggets). Go Blazes!

Gina told everyone that she was going to NY. That's so they don't look for her. Bobby got the idea from Dr. Holmes in "The Devil in the White City". She checked in, but she never checked out. And who would look for her? She has no one. Except... Will justice be served?

And they all lived happily ever after. The End. Moy has the same work ethic as Gina. Neither of them should have jobs.

Mary doesn't yet realize she'll soon be receiving season tickets to the New York Blaze's games, as a token of Gina's gratitude.

Well, at least Gina left the plates stacked instead of balancing precariously on their edges.

WV: "refoo". "I can't believe Gina refooed to see Mary before she left to become a WAG in NYC.

Ditto the Face-Touching label request!

Are we sure Bobby is in New York? All the waitress said was, "She moved to New York after meeting up with her old boyfriend!" Maybe something bad happened between them and she just skipped town...

Mary takes the red eye and arrives in New York exhausted and disheveled, but just in time to intervene in an ugly quarrel between a weeping Gina and an angry red-faced Bobby:

Would it be too much to hope that this story segues into some mafia thugs coming to the dinner to find Gina and Bobby. The waitress rats out Mary, and the thugs take her in. The next couple of weeks could be a Reservoir Dogs type torture of Mary Worth in an attempt to find Gina's location. Mary uses her grey steel will and doesn;t break. But true to Mary Worth's meddling she starts talking to one of her captors and makes him realize that being a hitman is not his true career path. That he was intended to be an interior designer. Realizing that Mary Worth he rebels against his captors and frees Mary in a bloodbath. We then have the conclusion were we see happy Santa Royale residents being catered to by the newest home designer. Mary Worth smiles in contentment at having succeeded in another meddling.
