Mary Worth 1774

Yes, with Wilbur's help, Tommy now has hope. I'm sure Tommy will be very grateful. Maybe they could fly kites together, or go fishing.

I've become more and more intrigued with the quotes that start off the Sunday Summary. I had to look Thomas Ken up in Wikipedia to discover that he was a non-juring bishop who died in 1711 and is considered the father of English Hymnology. Where does she get these things, from Bartlett's Big Gray Book of Obscure and Unfamiliar quotations?

Someday, Miss Moy will be unable to stop the quoting:

"To do is to be." - Nietzsche
"To be is to do." - Kant
"Doobie-Doobie-Doo." - Sinatra
"Scooby-Doobie-Doo, where are you?" - Hanna/Barbera

Gee, is the Thomas Ken quotation meant for Tommy, or for Wilbur?

"Her phone call was a pleasant surprise! We kept in touch by email." Uh Wilbur, Iris doesn't seem to have the kind of romantic feelings for you as you appear to have for her. And scarfing down those muffins is not helping.

Tommy will soon be happily eating ham sandwiches with Wilbur!

I guess Wilbur is completely unfamiliar with current recidivism rates.

Somebody on the Comics Kingdom site referenced a guest appearance by ALF, and I didn't know what they meant until I went back to look at the image of Mary with that coffee cup in front of her face. Then I did indeed LOL.

Yahoonski, I was thinking the pig people from that episode of "Twilight Zone" (I think) which posits an alternate world of snout-nosed types who think each other beautiful (kind of like how Mary thinks K2 is charming or Iris goes for Wilbur). But Alf works too.

I have a great idea! How about Tommy falls back into his old ways and gets Frannie from the Fish Bum (or whatever it's called) hooked on the Drugs!! The quote for the Sunday strip could say, "The past is never dead. It isn't even past."
