Mary Worth 1777

Wilbur puts on his best Woman Scorned face and gives Tommy the stink eye. He knows why Iris dumped him: To care for her low life son when his STATUS CHANGED. Now he's had to ask Mary Worth to write his 600 word weekly column for him so that he can devote his full attention to wooing Iris back.

If I recently had a status change like Tommy's, I can't think of anything I'd rather do less than have dinner at Mary's with my mother and her tubby erstwhile boyfriend. Come to think of it, even if I HADN'T had a status change would I want to do that. (The fuchsia rug with blue edging ups the nausea factor - bleah.)

Iris is a classic "helicopter parent", always hovering over her offspring. That's worked so well thus far, she might as well keep it up.

This storyline will go NOWHERE. said...

Is "Heroin Dealer" one of those new official Facebook statuses?

"This former drug dealer" might want to meet "this former workoholic bachelor", Tom Harpman. He had a status change recently.

Poor Tommy. So bitter! I think he needs a quick lesson in "There But For The Grace Of...", courtesy One-Armed Jim at Hospital.

Perhaps he just needs some gainful employment to make him feel a little self-respect. He could work at Food Team.

(Reminds me of Dave....)

Boy, Tommy's self-loathing makes one wonder what happened to him during time at Folsom.

Wilbur gave up his job for this?

This has to be the world's most awkward meal. Only Wilbur seems to be able to keep shoving in the brown glop.

If Tommy's had a hard time adjusting to life with his mother's helicoptering, I can only imagine the nightmare he'll undergo when Wilbur takes a fatherly interest in him.

It takes strength of character to walk by former druggy associates and say "No, thanks. I don't do that anymore." To have to do so with his mother on one side of him, holding his hand and making remarks about his changed status, and Wilbur on the other, carrying a kite, would be too much for anybody.

They say this cat Wilbur's a bad mother...
Shut yo' mouth!
But I'm talkin' 'bout Wilbur!

Sorry, couldn't restrain myself, very unlike Tommy saying "Moooooommmm!"

Moy needs to hire you to help her keep up with the times.

What is Wilbur's expression in today's panel? Anger? Hatred? He sure doesn't approve of Tommy. Let Tommy be. "He's paid what he owed; he's square with the house again."

I know a way out for Tommy but it might land him in jail again. Which, come to think about it. might also be a better option than what awaits him at Charterstone.
