Mary Worth 2360

I wasn't always sure what the delegates at last night's Republican convention were chanting, but I know what the citizens of Santa Royale are chanting:

P-S-A!
P-S-A!
P-S-A!
P-S-A!

Today's full strip

It is a great keyboard, but Mary's hand position is all wrong. She's going to develop a serious case of carpal tunnel. Another Dr. Cory story in the making?

Mary's advice in Panel 1 sounds good, but may not pass the Al-Anon test. Giving total support could actually be enabling. Perhaps Dr. Kapuht could offer some 12-step advice!

Today I'm worried about more than Mary's posture. One side of her face seems to be sagging and she has a glazed, filed stare. I wonder what Ready Med prescribes for small strokes?

Mary relies heavily on the numeric/directional keypad of the keyboard. Is she doing accounting or playing Flight Simulator as she composes her Ask Wendy column?

It looks like she's confusing the keyboard with an organ. She's about to get down with some Yes or ELP.

This panel works perfectly if you remove the computer keyboard and desk and replace it with a giant organ. Based on Mary's rigid stare, I'm imagining the most ominous of sounds! I'm also imagining Mary in a black cape and drippy candles all around her.

Haha, Anonymous. Our totally synced thoughts crossed on the Interwebs!

P1- The chair is right up against the window
P2- There is a wide open space behind the chair.

Anyone catch today's strip? Next to Giella's signature appears to be the word "bye".

SATURDAY
Since Dr. Quack of Ready Med wrote Tommy's prescription with unlimited refills, Tommy will never get out of bed.

@Rubb from Nu Joisy at 8:18 am, you're correct! (Good eye!) Is Joe saying farewell?

Yep, folks. Today's the end of an era: Joe Giella's farewell strip.

Farewell, Uncle Joe, and thanks for everything. I've come to believe that most of the wonderful wackiness of your style was meant to amuse us--the extra limbs, odd angles, and strange, unrecognizable foodstuffs. Heaven knows you have provided us with endless opportunities for snarkiness, and I, for one, am grateful. I saw this coming a while ago, when you slipped that framed portrait of Batman into the background. I'm hoping you read this blog, so I can tell you to live long(er) and prosper.

Look out, June!

Thank you, Joe, for sharing your talent with us! May life open up new and exciting panels for you!

Sigh! Thanks for everything, Mr. Giella! It's been wonderful looking at your powerful strips over the years! I love your last strip with Tommy! He looks great!

I also have to say that I don't know how we are going to do without your Mary Worth, who always looks so plastically perfect, just like her personality!

I wish you all the best, and thank you!!!

Thanks and farewell, Mr. Giiella! We will miss you - happy trails to you.

Wow... I knew it was coming but I didn't expect to feel so sad. Mr. Giella - I can't tell you how much I've enjoyed your Mary Worth strips - your comical renditions of Mary and her surroundings are the only reason I followed this strip, and started reading this blog. It just won't be much fun anymore, despite the sharp wit of the contributors to this blog, and Wanders' own, oftentimes, brilliant comments. Sorry, Moy - although your ridiculous dialog and lame story lines are fun to poke fun at, I'm afraid they're just not going to be enough to carry the strip or this blog. No offense, June, but I see the Mary Worth strip soon being dropped from the few newspapers that still carry it. Bummer.

Saturday's strip: Too bad over-meducating on opioids tend to make Tommy's face break out.

Mr. Giella, you will be sorely missed. Godspeed, sir.
