Mary Worth 2991

If I felt badly for Saul when his dog died, it doesn't compare to how badly I feel for him now. If there's a special place in hell for chihuahua's, Bella is still better off than Saul is right now at this moment with this tormenter.

Wanders, I think you should have a new category in the Worthy Awards: Most sociopathic behavior by Mary.

I don't know if KM understands (not that she ever) that behavior like this is not helpful, but borderline cruel. If I was Myster Wynter, I would get out of the car and thumb my way back home. Better still, thumb my way to the nearest police station and take out a complaint against Mary.

Does KM understand anything? Let's see the things she's botched up so far this year: Depression/attempted suicide, sexual harassment/assault, death of a beloved pet, drug addiction, Catholic confession, karaoke and the year isn't over yet.

Regina, thank you. Exactly what I was thinking. Even for Mary Worth this story line is awful. Mary's behavior is mean and self centered and KM has no clue about emotions or people. Can we please go to Italy and see how Dawn is doing? Of course KM's story line will be silly but at least we will be able to laugh about it.

Today's (rather uncomfortable) Boldface Haiku is titled

"The Mary Worth Meddling Course Syllabus".

Know! Not!
Here. Going in?
Not interested isn't!
Quick! Good!

Think Saul will be doing any more favors for Mary?

Neither do I.

Regina- the next big event will be Felicia’s debut in the Santa Royale Opera Company’s presentation of Lohengrin. Then the year will be over.

@Regina W-P, well put. Mary is a meddling maniac who should be stopped. “So your dog died? There are lots of dogs - just get another one!” What world does KM live in?

I miss the days when Mary Worth stories were dependably ridiculous and unintentionally hilarious. Now they are just ridiculous.

Normally I enjoy a good 'trainwreck' storyline, but this... Even if I hadn't just lost Romeo last month, I'd still find Mary's behavior horrifying, especially as Wynter would still be dealing with flashbacks of Bella's final hours/minutes and blaming himself.

I think I agree with everyone, Mary has become an absolutely horrible character.

Mary: For crying out loud, Saul, enough with this Bella crap. Bella, Bella, Old Yella! You and I both know that every dog is just like the next; four legs and a tail. Now get your butt out of my car and go in and get another damn dog. But make sure it's a female. I don't want some filthy mutt lifting his leg on my new tires!

Yes, as deplorable as Mary's behavior is, I think we all suspect how this will turn out. Saul will be brow-beaten into going in, he will be shamed and intimidated into taking home a dog, they'll eventually develop a blissful master-pet relationship, Saul will thank Mary profusely for saving his life, and Mary's reprehensible behavior will be not only excused but validated.

This ending would be perfectly in keeping with this entire appalling story line.

Alternate Nance Boldface Haiku titles:
"This is for your own good."
"This will hurt you more than it will hurt me."
"The trick is to pull the Band-Aid off quick."

Some of you may recall the expression "jumped the shark" from Fonzi's feat on water skis in one of the late episodes of "Happy Days." Well, it appears MW has now jumped the chihuahua. It reminds me of the time Mrs. Yahoonski and I were coming back from vacation in northern Maine and she offered to spell me at the wheel. When I accepted her offer she promptly hijacked the vehicle and exited the turnpike for a side trip to crowded Kennebunkport. I just wanted to get home as fast as possible and thus felt totally like I'd been KIDNAPPED. I feel your pain, Saul.

How many times have we begged for an update of Dawn in Beautiful Italy and we keep getting more of this story line? How many times has Saul begged to be left alone?

Mary is out and out committing false arrest. I doubt her renter's insurance will cover this.

One of the posters on the Comics Curmudgeon posted a very NOT FAMILY FRIENDLY response to what Myster Wynter should have said. It was very bad, but I couldn't stop laughing. I don't want to post the link for fear of banishment, so let me just say that it was the first poster on today's page.

Oh, please, Wanders! Take Regina's suggestion and add "Most Sociopathic Behavior" to the Worthy Awards. That's the only thing that will make me laugh at this.

@ Regina Wolfe-Parks - Hooboy... Not Family Friendly indeed, but I did chuckle at comment you pointed to.

I picture Mr Wynter covering his new dog in luminescent paint to roam the halls of Charterstone as the Hound of Charterstone. Wilbur dawns a deerstalker hat.

Sorry I didn't get on the blog fast enough today. Maybe we should have an Enter at Your Own Risk section.
