No sign of the tulips today. I suppose they drowned and went to the big greenhouse in the sky.
Panel 1: since time seems to be so fluid in the Worthiverse, did Dawn have (ahem) enhancement surgery off strip? I thought of the song “June is Busting Out All Over” from “Oklahoma!” and substituting “Dawn” for “June.” (Wanders, I hope I haven’t veered into non-family-friendly territory.)
Good question, Bill the Butcher. I notice what looks like a wild look in the eyes of most characters in the Worthiverse, as if they are desperate to escape their panel (as are we frequently) and are secretly pleading with us readers to release them from the insipid dialogue they are forced to mouth..
Carlye, thanks for the correction! I will blame being confined at home for me hallucinating Curly singing “June...” instead of “Oh What a Beautiful Mornin.’” I just hope we never witness Mary singing “You’ll Never Walk Alone” to Dawn - yikes.
We know for a fact that Frenchy doesn't know about Jared but I am wondering if Jared knows about Frenchy. I think even if Jared knows, he doesn't care, because his and Dawn's love is "real".
Perhaps they'll introduce their respective others via Skype and hilarity will ensue.
At this point, I'm hoping Dawn gets dumped by both Hugo and Jared.
And, yeah, @Regina Wolfe-Parks, Dawn did tell Jared about her boyfriend some time ago. But it would seem that, indeed, Jared has conveniently forgotten that little nugget.
S. McW. Yes, I got the crestfallen joke. It is / was funny. I just meant that Jared's reaction to getting dumped would be a lot more serious than a fallen crest.
Was Mary worth Jack? Did Jack overimbibe after a Rudy Valee concert and marry Mary merry? If Jack Worth could jack worth, how much worth would Jack Worth jack?
Someone stop me. The only thing lamer than this comment is the strip itself.

That's not Mary. Sure, the purple blouse & wig are a fine disguise, but you can't fool ME, Reese Witherspoon.

Why do people in this strip not look at each other while talking to each other?

Today's Boldface Haiku is titled
"A Wish List Of All Mary Worth Readers".
Feelings
Someone else?
No. Do.
Clarity.
Too long!
Or!
KitKat, a gentle correction: that song is from Carousel.

Coming next week:
"Jared . . . um . . . Jared, I've changed my mind. Sorry. Bye."
They'll be able to hear his crest fall in the next county.

Scottie McW ? They'll be able to hear the gun shot in the next county.

Helen,
Jared will be "crestfallen." Get it? Ha haaa, I crack me up!
(Full disclosure: I stole that joke from Hawkeye Pierce of M*A*S*H.)

Mary's husband was named Jack?
Was Mary worth Jack? Did Jack overimbibe after a Rudy Valee concert and marry Mary merry?
If Jack Worth could jack worth, how much worth would Jack Worth jack?
