Gosh, I hope Steven is doing okay. I worry about that kid. He spent years in training, and now he's going to start over. At least I hope he's starting over, and that permanent time-off isn't some sort of euphemism for, you know, moving to West Virginia.

“We, um, sent Steven to a big farm upstate, where he has lots of room and other veterinarians to play with…”

Estelle: “I’m sorry. I know you enjoyed having him there.”

Ed: “Yes. His constant griping and complaining made every day memorable. No one could whine like Steven! His shouting matches with Trixie’s owner were epic. I don’t know how I’ll keep up with our Yelp reviews without Steven around to read them to me. I just don’t know how I’ll manage.”

After dinner, they can lighten the mood by moving to the piano to play some funeral march music.

Estelle's dining room is so fancy, like a restaurant.

I attended WVU back in the late Seventies. No memories of it at all.

P.S. So the little crybaby quit. No loss.

I'm hoping that Stephen moved to a vets office with posted hours that everyone sticks to.

Or, that he went to a farm upstate. (thanks anon.)

What Unca Ed said to Steven on his first day as an intern:

Don’t be shy with the patients and the owners. I’d love to hear what they have to say about us on Yelp. Just keep it clean, no matter what they say. This is a FAMILY FRIENDLY practice. Just keep it clean, no matter how much %#@& the dogs and cats leave behind.

I'm not so certain we've seen the last of nephew Steven!
