Pilot: "Attention passengers! We are here to rescue you! We only have two extra seats so the two most enthusiastic passengers will be rescued first. Come on, passengers! Let's hear it! Who wants to be saaaaAAAAaaaved???!!!!"
I wouldn't want to count on the fuschia helicopter. As depicted, the main blades are about to come in contact with the tail rotor. Then again, it may be a remote controlled toy helicopter, and not a rescue craft at all. Perspective is kind of tricky in this strip.
Oooh, Dawn almost has the helicopter in her grasp! Are Wilbur, Dawn, and the Burly Kenos the only passengers left on the ship? Have the others already killed each other off at the life boats? I'm starting to lose my willing suspension of disbelief.
Remember how Mary single-handedly saved Dr. Jeff from the malpracticing Vietnamese doctors? (The docs who didn't know about broad-spectrum antibiotics?) Well, have no fear, tomorrow she will repel down from that helicopter and save them all!

....because people shooting can easily be heard over helicopter rotors hundreds of yards away.....
Moy is in serious need of a realty check and possibly an intervention.
Somebody should be building an SOS fire on deck. Otherwise, how would the rescuers find them?

How long is it going to take for this tub to sink anyway?
My biggest laugh of the day: right below today's strip was an ad for Carnival Cruises. I almost choked on my Wilbur Memorial Ham Sandwich.
The blond guy only appears to be terrified of drowning. In reality, he's trying to avoid Dawn's bad breath. She is crowding him in a major way.

on my earlier post, that should be "shouting', although 'shooting' may be a nice alternative...
