Mary Worth 1998
If ever a work of art has captured the essence of familial love, it is this one. Gordy's attachment to his grandmother is clearly unmatched as she takes a break from packing boxes to explain to her daughter why she and Gordy were excluded from her recent marriage ceremony. Additionally, it portrays without irony the artist's deep understanding of matrimonial bliss as Hanna is empowered to move herself into her man's apartment the day after her wedding.

Mary Worth 1994
Since I can no longer follow this complex plot -- it's just that amazing -- I thought I'd share a few other thoughts.
Yesterday, we had snow. It started at about 10 a.m., and by the time I was driving home from work at 5 p.m., the freeway was packed with ice and piles of slush that slopped up on the undercarriage with a sloshy grate. Most of the cars on the Interstate seemed to be following best driving practices, with an occasional jerk weaving aggressively past anyone with hazard lights. But the rest of us caravanned at a steady 20 m.p.h. knowing full well that one wrong move would ruin the drive for everyone coming next.
My wife and I went to Maui last September, as you might remember, where the speed limit actually is 20 m.p.h., so I told my wife that basically it was like driving in Hawaii. I'm not sure everyone on the freeway agreed, but the association got me home calm, collected, and definitely cool.

Mary Worth 1993
The Valencia Resort in Goleta. It's not a real place, unfortunately. Although there is the Bacara Resort & Spa in Goleta, and the Rancho Valencia in Rancho Santa Fe not too far away. Both are very expensive, but I've been reading about making your goals a reality through the power of visualization. I keep trying to visualize these resorts, hoping to go someday, but unfortunately, my visualization always drifts to Hanna and Sean's honeymoon. I lose interest, really fast, and start visualizing the Goleta Jiffy Lube instead. It's one of the best.

It was inevitable that Sean and Hanna would spend their lives making comparisons to their first marriages. I just didn't expect it to start on the way to the alter.
"I remember my first wedding, it was in a beautiful church. I remember my first wedding cake, it was moist and chocolate. I remember my first wedding witness, she was really young." The comparisons continue for six whole years. That's how long they have to live right?

This is a great plan, with lots of positive outcomes. Not only does it deny Amy the opportunity to attend her mother's wedding, but it means Hanna won't even have to tell her husband about their daughter and grandson until it's too late for him to back out. It's win-win.
