While concentrating on the beautiful little hummingbirds, you almost miss the menacing shadow-Mary. Then you get the full-on menacing Sunday Mary. Are we witnessing the genesis of a new supervillain?
I'm trying to grok the symbolism of the hummingbird feeder... There's an eerie parallel between the slight birds being poisoned by the deadly sweets offered to Dawn by Mary just as she dispenses off-brand chocolate chip cookies laden with artificial sweetener as blithely as she does terrible, terrible advice.
Hummingbirds are extremely fierce birds, and they'll chase other bummers away from the feeder. So, having four of them conently sharing one feeder is not realistic. Wait, this is WorthWorld, where nothing is realistic....
What other classes does Dawn take? We never see her in any of them. Also, does Harlan have other friends he could/should be spending time with?
Yes, smooth, those are some mean cookies. Did you see the menacing look Dawn is giving hers in the second panel? They look like little pacmans. Maybe they have been biting back.
Yes, KitKat is correct about hummingbird behavior. I collect hummingbird feeders and I've never seen one that looks as flat as that one. Where would the nectar be stored? But as she said, this is the "Worthiverse".
During the conversation, the scoop neckline on Dawn's shirt has morphed into a V neck, and Mary's into a cowl neck. Where can I get these transforming shirts?
Monday Dawn may be attending the U. of S.R. for 17 years, but she's no smarter. She didn't realize she's been spending all her time with Harlan to the exclusion of her other friends? Didn't Dawn complain to Mary at the start of this story that her father spent all his time with Iris? Maybe Mary's cookies have mind-altering ingredients.

Those are some mean cookies. Why is Mary waving hers in Dawn's face?

Darn autocorrect - HUMMERS!

I assumed you just meant people who are no fun to be around. I saw the parallelism to this strip.
Mary can possibly be charged with "Brandishing cookie".
Mary's hand's even smaller than Trump's.

Refrigerator notes: Left, a brief note written by someone whose first language is Greek ("Mary, Marry me. Martin"). Right, tickets to Hamilton.

And I see today, Monday, they are back to the scoop necks for the end of the conversation. Sigh...

Tomorrow: Dawn signs up for the Hiking Club.
