Oh, how I wish Mary had used air quotes, instead of real quotes, when she was talking to Dawn.
By the way, June Brigman is a great artist, as evidenced by the nuanced expressions in Panel 2. I'm officially a fan.

If KM gets to repeat and mail in the dialogue, I get to do the same. For today's strip, please use as my comments/questions those I previously posted September 14 at 11:24.
On her way to work, Dawn ponders Mary's advice and concludes, "Ah, what does that old biddy know? I'm ready for a romantic supply-closet nooner with my Ned Sweetcheeks."
June is a great artist, but I think she needs to develop some of the visual interest and tongue-in-cheek quality that Joe Giella brought to MW. Her art doesn't overcome the blandness of Karen Moy's scripting. Why do we need so many days of Mary dishing out platitudes while holding a rose? Where are the passers-by in their plaid pant suits? Mary looking slightly smug and censorious instead Mary looking vaguely concerned in cut and paste panels (not just once, either!)
June concentrated so much on the facial expressions that she gave very short shrift to those roses. They remind me of the Play-Doh "roses" I modeled when I was ten years old.
Hey Dawn, come back! You forgot to tell Mary about your "friend's" nebbishy nerdly co-worker who blew the whistle on the lying (oops, "misinforming") boss. I bet Mary would have something to say about that.
Dawn's theme song should be "Looking for Love in All the Wrong Places."

Dawn doesn't think a romantic relationship would be fair to the wife. Now that's what I call empathy and quality adulting. Way to go Dawn!!!!
