Mary Worth 2900

Since when have friends helped you over the years, Mary? Do you mean, "Friends haven't helped me for years?" I think the last time someone helped you was when Kathy's mom prayed for you and you felt wanted. Ever since then, you've been fighting to get that feeling back.

Is Mary right-handed, left-handed, or magically ambidextrous?

Do nurses really wear stethoscopes draped around their neck when they go to the cafeteria?

Are those the ghosts of people who have died at this hospital in the background?

There's so much mystery here.

Although Wilbur is mentioned, at least we don’t have to look at him. That’s a good thing.

Along with the help of friends, Mary tacitly acknowledges the help of roughage, That’s a BIG salad.

Today's Boldface Haiku is titled

"Wilbur Must Have Encored With People a la Streisand".

OK?
So. Support.
Your.
Me. Paying forward. Glad!

1) Mary gives herself the self-congratulatory pat on the back.

2) Even though Mary is being her usual smug self, I'm just happy I don't have to look at Wilbur and his combover.

@fauxprof at 8:04 a.m., perhaps Mary remembers the time she "dodged a bullet" at a doctor's appointment and ordered a salad at Diner. There was never an explanation of exactly what bullet she dodged. High LDL levels? Declining meddling abilities?

Didn't Jeff retire from practicing medicine some years ago to give him more time to raise funds for Peace Village? Does he just put
on a white coat, wander aimlessly, and sit in the cafeteria? Moutainview Hospital was a smallish southwestern-style building, not an ugly big building like this thing. Maybe this is Medical Practice Building, and Jeff and Mary are crashers. And Mary has obviously blabbed to Jeff about Wilbur's difficulties and (of course) her heroics. Jeff's in his default "Mary, you're wonderful!" mode - bleah!

There were so many heartfelt comments yesterday. We really are a fond MW&Me family. Wanders, thank you for providing this forum and giving us space to connect (and snark). And, I'm with Nance - if KM can't include serious topics without trivializing them at best and insulting people at worst, she should stick to things like Toby's gray clay animals and clown paintings.

Nance, Loved your Boldface Haiku today. Perhaps "People" will be Wilbur's next Karaoke hit. Betting Jeff asked about Wilbur after Mary informed him that Wilbur had been struck by one of those supernovas backlighting him at karaoke...

The stethoscope placement is incredibly awkward. Nurse Nipple, paging Nurse Nipple!

Dr. Jeff dodged a bullet - not being friends with Wilbur has its benefits - Jeff didn't have to listen to the "showcase" Mary set up (or listen to any of Wilbur's previous whining and self-pity).

More Mary worship! YAY! I LOVE MARY WORTH! SHE'S THE BEST! ...
Why wasn't Dr. Jeff at the karaoke night? Is he still Mary's boyfriend, or are they just friends now? ... Or were they only ever just friends? ... So may questions for Mary Worth, meddler of mystery!

Sandi Ego, you beat me to it! Most unfortunate placement of a stethoscope whatever-it-is on the end of the tubes. That had to be intentional to see if we were paying attention!

What did Mary do? Did she push Wilbur's car over the cliff?

Sandi Ego and Delilah, that's the first thing I noticed today too! But as I was sitting here wasting time trying to come up with a comment that wouldn't be too family unfriendly, doesn't Sandi Ego jump right in to the deep end with "Nurse Nipple." Sandi, tell your mother that, okay, maybe you can't carry a tune, but you sure can deliver a funny line - maybe you should be on stage after all! Thanks for keeping me laughing all day!

Sorry I missed yesterday (minor surgery), but I want to send my heartfelt thanks to all who shared yesterday. Remember, it is a comic strip. We are the reality.

Love to all

Awww, thanks Anonymous! Despite my mom being rather unkind about my singing ability, she is one of the funniest people in the world. I definitely owe her my sense of humor.
