Mary Worth 3275

Good news! Iris is hot again and eating breakfast at Zaks! The hussy.

What the heck does gluten have to do with any of this? Neither of the doctors Iris saw mentioned it, and as far as I have read, gluten intolerance does not cause hair loss, rapid weight gain, or stupidity, which were her three main symptoms. In any case, this beats another day of Mary lying through her teeth about what a great guy Wilbur is.

@Yahoonski, I'm in agreement with you about Mary yammering to Estelle about how wonderful Wilboor is. If my husband embarrassed me the way Wilbur did to Estelle, he'd be long gone and if he was outside with a boombox, I'd call the police. But apparently common sense is lacking in the Worth world.

Maybe I should go out and get some gluten-free sandwiches. I need to lose a few pounds in two weeks just like Iris did.

Slap anything between two slices of gluten-free bread, eat it in the morning, and presto, it’s a breakfast sandwich. Sure.

Looks like another week of nothing, just like last week - UGH. I’m hoping that KM is on vacation, relaxing and trying to get in touch with her creative side (good luck with that!) to come up with some new characters and new ideas. I’ve had it up to here with pinballing between Estelle-Wilbur and Iris-Zak. I’d even take a return of John Dill, for Pete’s sake. Is he still assisting Chef Pierre in NYC?

It's not the gluten, it's all the salt and polysorbat-80.

Jingle: "Zak McMuffins, they taste great! They have sodium benzoate!"

Iris was diagnosed with Hashimoto’s, not Celiac disease. What the heck does gluten have to do with her condition? Which begs the question, are Kelk and Splak gluten-free? Perhaps Kelk is seaweed-based? Because it sounds like kelp? By the same logic, Splak is probably made from spackle. I think I will take a break now and go toast a nice gluten-full bagel.

Dear? Dear? I thought Zak was 25 years old, not 125.

Prepared gluten-free foods (like frozen breakfast sandwiches) often include rice or tapioca flour, both of which are loaded with ingredients that can contribute to the onset of diabetes. If Iris is trying to lose weight, gluten-free stuff will do the opposite, which I learned from hard experience. Of course, this is the Worthiverse, where prepared (Toby's rotisserie chicken for Ian's colleague) and frozen foods (Estelle's store-bought falafel) reign.

I'm on my most successful crash weight loss program (flu), but 2 kilos in 3 days is nowhere close to what Iris has pulled.

Well, they're not as good as the gluten-free breakfast sandwiches in Paris, I'll tell you that.

Iris, do you know that our drinking water contains massive amounts of dihydrogen monoxide?

Gluten-free breakfast sandwiches. Really. My 94yr old mom is at a care & rehab facility regaining strength to get back home after a hospital stay. She is eating more appealing food than this.
Just wait till Iris turns down one of Mary's muffins. A frenzy of baking with rice flour and arrowroot will ensue.

Are Mary's muffins gluten-free ? Here's hoping that we get to see Iris turning up her nose and telling Mary "I don't eat that junk anymore."

Has anyone else noticed that Nance has been MIA again? Hope all is okay! Miss her BFH.

Michael Beaumier: How about calling it just plain HEALTH?

The term "wellness" had been around long enough that I accept it as a legitimate word, meaning: "exactly the same as 'health', but cooler and more pretentious."

"Healthness," on the other hand, is merely healthiness misspelled. I applaud your outrage.

Is a breakfast sandwich the same as a fried egg sandwich? Or is it Splak between two slices of bread?
