To M. Wanders' point, I too wonder what prompted Tommy to come up with a quotation from his mom about work when he is heading out for dinner. Non sequitur much, Tommy? Or maybe he's hoping to replace whomever does the Sunday quotations on MW with constant quips from Iris Beedie.
I took thought that was a weird quote as well, Scottie, but I think that's Brandy saying it, not Tommy. Either way, who would say that about a minimum wage job? These two dopes deserve each other.
@Scottie, I looked again and it IS Tommie saying that. Sorry. Tommie is a lot dimmer than I thought if he enjoys stacking cans. I guess it's a step up from cleaning the mess in the bathroom.
Tommy is quoting his mom, who is of course quoting Mary, whose references are always "I heard somewhere..." or "I've heard it said" or "They say." She sounds like someone, I don't know, maybe, who knows, who is fond of saying "I heard."

Iris Beedie, slacker mom, still leeching off Zak.. She's grateful that you took her slacker son off her hands, Brandy.
I wonder where Tommy found the Chrysler K car. Santa Royale Twentieth Century Car Mart?
Not to disparage anyone's career choices, but stacking cans seems like an odd thing to love.
But, hey, different strokes! Go for it, Tommy! If you're happy, why not?
And KitKat is right on the mark. Brandy unshackled that anchor from Mom's ankle, and now she's free to continue her decades-long late adolescence.

Today's Boldface Haiku is titled
"Tommy's Therapy Session".
Mom love!
Is?
Good. Zak's.
Kind...grateful!

@nance: Bravo on the BFH title once again.

I think Tommy's wrong; it was Mary who sad it. She is the Queen of platitudes/cliches. By the way, has Mary ever worked a day in her life ?
