One of the great literary ironies of our time: There is no way that Wibur deserves someone like Estelle, but Estelle certainly deserves Wilbur. This is the foundation of a beautiful relationship; three break ups, and only getting back together for your own self-improvement. "Dating Wilbur will make me a better person," should not be your sole reason for getting back together for the third time. Maybe you should be counseling with Libby instead of Mary Worth.

What?? I don’t know whether I should SIGH in boldface italics or just sit here in Stunned Silence.
It seems Estelle misinterpreted Mary’s earlier remark to mean that only the path to Becoming a Better Person is to submerge herself Under All That Fluster.
Now I know why most old ladies wear their hair in a short cut. The weight of that massive amount of hair has obviously dented Estelle's brain.

I can’t even think of one good point that Wilbur has, unless one counts the feeling of relief when he leaves. Otherwise, I’m coming up empty.
I speculate that Mary’s endless attempts to get Estelle and Wilbur back together is a key element of her plan to wrest away Ask Wendy from him and to her permanently. Of course, it’s possible KM has forgotten all about that plot crumb.
It looks like Dr. Ed was a one-and-done. I wonder if clueless Estelle will find another vet or keep showing up at Ed’s office with both Libby and Pierre. BTW, I doubt Wilbur will offer to pay Pierre’s vet bills. Gratitude is not one of those alleged “good points.”
More lies from Moy. Wilbur is NOT a work in progress; he's a schlub in regress. He does NOT have his good points; if he did, we would have seen at least one of them in all these years. He does NOT really care about Estelle; he just feels sad and rejected because she refused to put up with his bad boundaries regarding her pet. And finally, what evidence have we seen that Estelle makes Wilbur a better person? On the contrary, his relationship with Estelle has laid bare even more disgusting aspects of his personality. One thing can be said for Wilbur, though: aside from his proclivity for stalking, he mostly minds his own business. Unlike some of his neighbors.
Would it kill KM to show Wilbur doing something good just once?
I can't see how dating an obnoxious creep would make one a better person. But if Estelle believes that, why doesn't she get back together with Arthur? She could be Time Magazine's next Woman of the Year.

If JB is to render Estelle any grayer or in further diminishing pastels, I predict she may disappear altogether from the Worthiverse somewhere around February. Maybe better for her. Mary really should find a new hobby to replace her penchant for meddling in people's lives. I suggest she set up a model railroad in her living room. That should satisfy her zest for control over little people.
I've come to believe Wilbur is Mary"s love child conceived when she was 14. There is no other explanation for why she's so determined to foist his sorry carcass off on someone.
Um, if Estelle was making him a better person, the toad wouldn't have acted like a complete jerk about Libby. And about everything else he does.
I'm holding out hope that 'I care about him too' and 'I also want to be a good person' are mutually exclusive.
Mary has gone way past advising and crossed over into controlling.

Ugh. A woman should never get back together with an abusive man just so she can be a better person. He threatened to kill her cat. That's pretty bad.
I'm not even seeing how Wilbur is trying to become a better person. Buying a pet you have no clue how to care for and then dumping it right away because it magically didn't solve your problems is juvenile and selfish.
I'd like to know the definition of "better person." I mean, after all, "family values" could apply to the Manson family, right? SMH
I am starting to think Mary secretly hates Estelle for some reason. That is the only reasonable explanation I can come up with for someone who specializes in "useful advice" to try to push a "friend" back into a toxic relationship.
OK, just what kind of kompromat does Weelbur have on Mary, anyway?
Good point. But I doubt that there is a test for mayoxyribonucleic acid.
I totally agree with Thunderheels. Mary must HATE Estelle. No friend would encourage her to go back to that.
