Mary Worth 1,384

But we did! And that's all that matters!

Wilbur's been eating a lot of ham sandwiches to deal with his survivor's guilt. And, clearly, it's been working.

Mmmm...pierogies and edible flowers for lunch!

Oh, how good to be home, and settle down to a meal of Mary's deep fried salmon mushballs. After all, Wilbur never did get his swordfish entree before the big "BAM". And in case he misses the flavorful vegetables at the Tuscan Vegan Food Court, there's a lovely bowl of radishes doubling as a centerpiece.

Dawn could of at least changed clothes, though.

Except for a more demure neckline, Dawn's wearing what she wore on that fateful day on the Unita del Mare. And, to celebrate his survival, Wilbur donned a Jim Tressel-style sweater vest.

What unusual eating utensils at Mary's table! Mary is inserting a probe into that lump. FYI to Wilbur and Dawn: if Mary herself doesn't know what's in the food she cooked, you might want to be cautious.

"Wilbur, Dawn, now is the time to tell you I poisoned your food. 'Ask Wendy' is MINE... ALL MINE!!!!!"

Mary looks pretty put out no ones asked her how her week went.

Man, I am at the edge of my seat! I can't wait until next week's episodes, when people talk about how lucky Dawn and Wilbur were to survive the cruise!

You know, with the slightest effort, Moy could have almost made this absurd storyline work.

If Dawn, in the midst of her own great fear and confusion, had been able to rescue that little girl, it could have demonstrated how caring for other people makes life worth living. Or Dawn, supposedly a strong swimmer, could have allowed Wilbur to be rescued, but then given her own place in the helicopter to a more needy passenger.

As it is, they've managed to get their own pathetic hides recued, at the expense of other passengers. THAT is supposed to give her a new lease on life?

Life is brutal.

I don't know where that v2 stuff came from. This site seems to be acting strangely today.

Yeah, dad, I guess we WERE saved by the kindness of strangers. Many of them were kind enough to wedge themselves on deck 4 and stay there while us and those gay twins vamoosed.

Birdie, I am SO with you on your comments about Dawn. I feel kind of cheated that Dawn didn't do something more noble like you described. Plus, if she had saved a small child (or her dad) or given up a seat in the chopper, it might have made world wide headlines AND if Dave saw it, he might realize what a gem of a woman he had given up. . . Totally in keeping with the Worthiverse in my opinion.

I am loving this! Dawn really has learned nothing at all, Mary looks troubled and duly concerned, and Wilbur keeps repeating himself endlessly like a prim old nanny. The entire storyline was pointless and unnecessary, and here we are back at Mary's Condo, with poorly drawn foodstuffs/centerpieces and glasses which may or may not contain a beverage.

Today's strip ages Mary dreadfully. She went from that little purple sleeveless number which showed off a wasp-waist and nice arms to this horrifying yellow short-sleeved shirt that looks like it's made of severely starched chino. Yikes.

I wonder why Toby and Tubby weren't invited to stay? Maybe there wasn't enough...er...of whatever that stuff is.

birdie@10:04 AM, your unconscious really wants to drop a V2 rocket on Charterstone. http://www.v2rocket.com/

Which members of the crew helped? Was it the captain who didn't see what he *&^%$#@ hit? Or was it the crewman who told them to go back to their cabins?
Or was it the raspberry tee-d group of diving mimes who were so helpful?

Aiuto--we're back to another month of previous story recap.

I am impressed that Mary had enough sense and courtesy to attach the trapezoidal table leaf on her dining room table. Always sensitive to Wilbur's girth!

Yeah, the passengers really helped by killing each other off over the lifeboats.

Where did Mary's neck go in the first panel?

LOL KitKat. Maybe so. :D

The ship, at one point almost totally submerged, seems to have righted itself around the time Wilbur was lifted off. Hmmmm?

So tomorrow Dawn will be on the couch again watching GOT to recover from the harrowing trip?

And Mary will be telling everyone why it is bad to ever leave the confines of Charterstone as it could be dangerous. Always better to be safe and secure. There is no need for adventures in the Worthiverse.

Oh, yum...gnocchi! Reminds me of Italy!

Bwahahahahahahahaha at Tuesday's strip! From Wilbur's overly-correct speech to Dawn's last line...I think the second panel could be a contestant for Panel of the Year.
